Bush's first speech to Congress
February 6, 2004 7:07 PM

Read this excerpt from Bush's first speech to Congress on Feb. 27, 2001, dug up from the White House website by Nicholas Kristof (post #266), where the President talks about fiscal prudence and paying off the $2 trillion debt in 10 years. He even talks about putting aside money for contingencies.

Boy, let's hope that the adults get back in charge of spending our money properly.

You can read the excerpt on our site, too.
