Sonny Rollins turned 77 = Previously unreleased gems!
September 9, 2007 1:43 AM

Go to Sonny Rollin's website, where each day from his birthday (which just passed on September 7th) to the 50th anniversary of his Carnegie Hall concert (on September 18th) he's posting a song from a previously unreleased concert from the Cleveland Cotton Club on June 2, 1956.

The lineup includes:

Clifford Brown - Trumpet
Max Roach - Drums
Sonny Rollins - Tenor Saxophone
Richie Powell - Piano
George Morrow - Bass

Clifford's playing is particularly fascinating. Don't miss this music!
