Best Bets for Filling Up.
August 1, 2010 1:59 AM

Well, now that the environmental disaster in the Gulf of Mexico seems to be coming to an end - at least the continual spewing of oil into the sea - perhaps we should think about which oil company to support when we inevitably have to fill up the ole tank of gas.

GreenAmericaToday.org has a nifty table that grades the top 7 oil companies according to various criteria ranging from the environment to their treatment of their workers to their health & safety records. You can guess where BP sits on that list:

#1 - Sunoco
#2 - Hess
#3 - CITGO
#4 - Chevron
#5 - Shell
#6 - Exxon/Mobile
#7 - BP

Just click on the links above to learn about the details of each company and how they were graded on each category (quiz: which company - if any - scored above a "C" grade in any category?).

To view the table of them all, check out this page, then make sure to fill up at the least worst of these environmentally unsound companies.
