Unfortunately, this month is not a good one for the jazz greats who seem to be leaving us at a faster and faster clip:

Sonny Rollins: "My friend and mentor Yusef Lateef's wife called me with the news of his passing. We have been blessed to be on the planet at the same time as Yusef Lateef."

Sonny is still strong and playing his ass off, thank God. Same with Roy Haynes.
