R.I.P. Oscar Peterson
December 30, 2007 7:46 AM

Following Frank Morgan into the unknown, we lost Oscar Peterson a week ago to kidney failure at age 82. Certainly one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time, his enormous spirit and generosity was unique among the jazz greats. He will be sorely missed...

The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (CBC) has the most comprehensive site on his music and career...check it out when you get a chance to try to understand the impact this man had, not only on the jazz community, but with all of music and beyond...

Oscar Peterson at the CBC website...

And for a few suggestions of some of Oscar's greatest recordings, check out our Oscar Peterson CD Picks page.
