Make sure to get yourself up to Smoke Jazz Club on 106th and Broadway (here in NYC) this weekend to see Mulgrew Miller's quartet, featuring Steve Nelson on vibes, Greg Ryan on bass, and Tony Reedus, on drums.
Mulgrew's music is so swinging, yet incredibly refined and tasteful. He is simply one of the most important figures in jazz today, and with the old masters passing at a quicker pace, is slowly carrying the mantel for the next few decades.

I'll second your comments on Mulgrew's playing. One of the most overlooked composers and bandleaders because he is such a great sideman/accompanist. Hope he's back soon!!
