You can't make this up. First, here's the news from Eliot's first day on the campaign trail:
From corporate boardrooms to the headquarters of the city's Democratic political campaigns, phone lines lighted up and strategy sessions were organized on Monday with a single mission in mind: stopping Eliot Spitzer.
It goes on from there.
And now for the juicy part of the story:
Notorious former madam Kristin Davis says she'll run in the Democratic primary for New York state comptroller if Eliot Spitzer enters the race - and she means it. Davis took to her Web site, Manhattan Madam.com, to post the challenge to "Client 9" on Monday, pointing out, among other things, that "his black socks in the boudoir are an additional affront to good taste."And that was just warming up.
"I like to wreak a little havoc here and there," she gushed to us Tuesday. "It's ludicrous that Spitzer would even consider running for public office again, and even more ludicrous that New Yorkers would vote for him. But if he's going to run, then so will I."
Yowza!! Look out below!!
