The folks over at The Blue Ocean Institute are in the midst of a huge push to hand out 5 million Seafood Guides this year.
Their Seafood Guide is basically a wallet-sized list of which fish should be consumed - those that are harvested sustainably - and those that should be avoided. Environmental concerns come into play, too (i.e. too much mercury in tuna for instance).
Check out their page, download the guide, and then contact Megan Smith at (516) 922-9500 or msmith@blueocean.org to have her send you a bunch that you can give out to your friends, or to those at the seafood counter or restaurant.
Harness the power of consumerism to ensure that our fish are sustainably harvested and remain for our children and their children!
