Posada, the terrorist, is being protected by the Bush Administration
February 13, 2006 6:06 PM

From Jon Heller:

President Bush has often insisted that "if you harbor a terrorist, you're equally as guilty as the terrorists." In that regard, it's instructive to consider the ongoing extradition battle between Venezuela and the United States over Luis Posada Carriles, who is currently being held in federal detention in Texas. By any definition, Posada richly deserves the description "terrorist," yet the Bush administration continues to protect him.

Opino Juris has the story.

Declassified CIA documents point out that
:

* In October, 1976, Posada masterminded the bombing of an Air Cubana flight from Barbados to Cuba, killing all 73 people aboard. A few days before the bombing, a reliable CIA source heard Posada say, "[w]e are going to hit a Cuban airplane."

* In 1998, Posada proudly told a New York Times reporter that he was responsible for a string of hotel bombings in Havana that killed an Italian businessman and wounded 11. "It is sad someone is dead," he admitted. "But we can’t stop."

* In 2000, Posada was convicted in Panama of conspiring to assassinate Fidel Castro (he had 34 pounds of C-4 in his possession when he was arrested). He was pardoned in 2004 by the outgoing Panamanian president, Mireya Moscoso.

This is the perfect example of the fallacy of Bush's "War on Terror." It's not about fighting terror so much as promoting U.S. Hegemony around the world. As Chalmers Johnson has written extensively, "According to the Defense Department's annual "Base Structure Report" for fiscal year 2003, which itemizes foreign and domestic U.S. military real estate, the Pentagon currently owns or rents 702 overseas bases in about 130 countries and HAS another 6,000 bases in the United States and its territories."

702 overseas bases!!

Your Music
Submitted by corneilius on March 16, 2006 - 4:48am.
Hiya Richard,

I am listening to your and your bands tracks as I write Another World/ From My Mind To Yours/ ... you use those few chords really well! Sounds like there's more there lol! .... and fine arrangements, very musical. Your lyrics are strong, as is your voice. I wish you well with all you do, both in your music and your communication, and your facillitating of change, so get out there and gig your ass off, 'cos it's the person-to-person contact that really makes the difference.

I know, as I currently do about 90 gigs a year (it's easy for me, just myself and my guitar ... bit more of a task with a band) ... I get paid for maybe about 1 in every ten gigs, though thousands of people world wide listen to my music from my site and elsewhere.

I will post a link to your music on my site very soon.Do spread the word on my behalf, for you will see that my site is also a resource for people to understand/feel the truth of what is being done by 'power'.....

Kindest Regards

Corneilius

please look this up ..if we forget the past we will die ..I.G. FARBER By www.wreckedband.com on March 13, 2006 - 10:05pm.
I.G.Farber

Do you remember? Let us never forget and thank God the Jews won't let us. Generals speak beyond their reach...but it is the young that is their bitch...rocklib, read my words as you would the bible, take each word and absorb and make a stand for yours and other children. Please come out of the closet, you know who I am; show your face. And please stop quoting the late great Alfred E. Newman. Do you remember the exchange between Andy Capp and John Lennon? You rocklib are no Andy Capp....Body bags are the norm, stacked up beyond count...God help us all.

You want to see how far corporations will go if we let them in this country? Look at the history of World War II, where going into World War II, General Motors and Dupont still had commercial deals and relationships with the giant German chemical company I.G.Farber, and with the Kruppworks and with the Nazi regime that was so intertwined with them. And there's plenty of documentation on that and even more coming out shortly in a major book on the subject.

If you want to see how they behave, go to Indonesia and see the Nike shoe subcontracted companies where for a $1.80 -- used to be $1.67 -- $1.80 a day, not a living wage, women are manufacturing Nike shoes. And they manufactured 19 million pairs in 1993 and all of their pay together, of all the women who manufactured all the shoes was less than what the chief executive officer of the Nike Corporation got that year

500,000 march for imigrants rights - power to the people By www.wreckedband.com on March 26, 2006 - 1:18pm.
Some time ago I worked in Bakersfield CA hoeing cotton, tying grape vines, and other work including working in Oxnard CA picking oranges. You have no idea what it is like in 120 degree heat in Bakersfield, looking out on a half mile row of cotton with a hoe in your hand knowing that all day everyday that is what you do. And when lunch time comes around there is no shade. Most of the time the crew foreman don't even supply a toilet for the men or women. In Oxnard day in and day out picking oranges for almost no pay. You pick them by the piece and get paid almost nothing for each one. I was always amazed a the great nature of the Mexican imigrants. Me and my 20 friends the only Americans. I am telling you no one, no white skinned, black skinned, whatever color skin, citizen of this country would and will do that kind of work. But when you are poor and desolate and your babies are starving this work my friends is a blessing from God. My point is the news media, the government, most people were shocked to see the amount of people that took to the streets for this controversial subject with both the democrats and the republicans. Music for America to me is a wonderful place where people of conviction and artists like myself can express themselves. I have been advocating many times here the bringing together of the sleeping giant (if you read my older posts you will understand what I am talking about) and a great big rally in Washington this summer. My suggestion is the weekend of the 4th of July, the biggest holiday week; so it can be encourged not only to attend the event but also enjoy several days discovering the nations capital with family and friends. The imigrant protest yesterday had one issue and look how many people took to the streets. With so many issues Music for America has, I am convinced that with the proper ground work from volunteers and an effective marketing campaign we can get a million. Just a thought I figured I would pass on and for all of you that get annoyed at my whie ebonics my lovely wife took the time to type this for me. Peace, Richard Hydell and Wrecked www.wreckedband.com
