Musharraf almost blown to bits.
December 15, 2003 7:56 PM

Imagine Pakistan's nuclear capabilities getting in the hands of the radical Islamicists. Well, it almost happened yesterday. Big news from Pakistan on the day Hussein was captured.

As Juan Cole states: "Pakistan is a nuclear power, and were Musharraf to be killed and replaced by an Islamist general, that development could throw South Asia and Afghanistan into turmoil and threaten the security of the US."

How about the U.S. supporting democracy in Pakistan? Might not that make that country a little more stabile and less "threatening" to the U.S.?
